Final Fantasy X Blitzball
This is for when the opponents teams are above level 50
THIS IS ARGUABLY THE BEST BLITZBALL TEAM
Position | Player | Cost per Game |
LF | Tidus | 1000 Gil* |
RF | Larbeight | 70 Gil |
MF | Vuroja | 90 Gil |
LD | Ropp | 200 Gil |
RD | Kulukan | 50 Gil |
GL | Nimrook | 100 Gil |
R1 | Kiyuri | 500 Gil |
R2 | Deim | 50 Gil |
*You do not have to pay Tidus
GAMEPLAY
Your basic strategy should be to get the ball to Tidus. Tidus should then do either the Jecht Shot or the Jecht Shot 2.
If Tidus is unable to do these things get the ball to Larbeight. He should be able to score from a good dostance from the goal.
This set up makes it so the ball will rarely get to your defense, but if it does you should be able to get the ball to your attackers.
Nimrook should be able to block or catch any ball except for the occasional Invisible Shot.
Notes
Tidus should have both the Jecht Shot and the Jecht Shot 2
Vuroja and Kiyuri can be interchanged. Kulukan and Deim are also interchangeable.
Nimrook should have Grip Gloves, Super Goalie, Anti-Nap 2, and Anti-Venom 2.
This team will cost you 1060 a game which is not that bad considering how good the players are.
If you use the Invisible Shot or the Jecht Shot 2 to get an almost certain score just move the target all the way to the left.

GAMEPLAY
Larbeight will be the main scorer unless Kiyuri is close or you use an invisible shot.

THIS IS THE CHEAPEST BLITZBALL TEAM
Position | Player | Cost per Game |
LF | Tidus | Free |
RF | Wakka | 1 Gil |
MF | Pah Guado | 10 Gil |
LD | Lakkam | 20 Gil |
RD | Jassu | 10 Gil |
GL | Raudy | 10 Gil |
GAMEPLAY
You will have your work cut out for you. This team has mediocre stats and you will have to face the top player.
Tidus and Wakka should use the Jecht Shots and Aurochs Spirit to get points.
Tidus should be used to retaliate.
This team will cost you 51 gil per game (5049 for 99 games). It will take you very little time to make enough money to play the game.
ORIGINAL TEAMS
BESAID AUROCHS
This is a pretty decent team whether you choose to use Tidus, Wakka, or both. Tidus/Wakka will be the main scorer using Jecht Shot or Aurochs Spirit. Wakka's Auroch Spirit will be extremely high. Not a bad choice once you get them to a decent level. (Wakka cannot be gotten until you go to rescue Yuna while on the Airship.)Keepa is an average goalie.
GUADO GLORIES
This team has a great block so hope the opponent wants to not break. You will have an easy time wandering around since they have high speed. The opponent will probably have at least one defender on them, which will help your goalie out.
LUCA GOERS
This is probably the worst original team at high levels. Their stats do not increase much after level 50. The goalie is average so this will not help too much to balance out the team. I would advise against getting any of the Goers once the opponents get past 50.
RONSO FANG
The only downsides to this team are its speed and HP. Other than that this team is pretty good. Do to their speed you will probably have at least one defender on you. The team has the highest EN of the original teams so you can afford to break. The goalie is one of the best in the game.
AL BHED PSYCHES
This team gets worse as the levels go up (the only exception is the goalie). The stats are pretty good but not the best so not the best option but not the worst. Nimrook is the best goalie which makes the team better than others. Nimrook can possibly block any shot (invisible shot is still based a bit on luck).
KILIKA BEAST
The best original team at high levels. The forwards are second only to Tidus and possibly Wakka, Vuroja is possibly the best middle defender, the defenders are second only to Ropp, Nizarut is the third best goalie (Wedge and Nimrook are the only ones better). All of the players are top tier. You can score easily and the opponents will have trouble scoring on you.
POINTERS
I suggest waiting to get most of the team members after they have hit level 60 or so. This is due to the fact that they will have the majority of their skills learned. It also helps with the defenders and goalie since they don't get much experience in this setup.
A great way to get lots of experience is to first put the other teams forwards to sleep and then pass the ball between your defenders. To increase the effectiveness you will want to give them high risk (if available) and a level 3 pass (If available).
High Risk can only be learned as a prize like the Jecht Shot 2 and Aurorchs Spirit. However, high risk rarely comes up as a prize. If you put high risk on your goalie be prepared for them to score a point or two.
Another way to raise the levels of your defenders and goalie is to put them back as free agents and then get them back after a team has dropped them. The level of that person will be raised to around the level of the other players on the other teams. I would only do this with one of your players at a time. If you do this with Nimrook make sure you can get Wedge or Nizarut at a high level to replace him for the games he will be gone.
You will have to teach Tidus and Wakka all of their abilities yourself since no other team can sign them.
Getting Gil Quick
Omega Ruins
Search within these coordinates X=69-75, Y=33,38 with your airship. This will open up the omega ruins.
Gillionaire
Rikku's ultimate weapon or use 30 designer wallets to put it on a weapon.
First Strike
Auron's ultimate weapon or use 1 return sphere to put it on a weapon
Auto-Med, Confuse Proof, & Beserk Proof
Auto-Med: 20 Remedy; Confuse Proof: 48 Musk; Beserk Proof: 32 Hypello Potion
Abilities
You will want someone with first strike if you get into a fight with a great malboro. It would be very helpful to also give the character flee to run from the battle. Auto-Med and the Proofs are if you don't have first strike you will be spared from the worst parts of bad breath and won't end up killing yourself. Gillionaire is to get the gil twice as fast.
Mimic
These appear in the Omega Ruins and give 50,000 gil (100,000 with gillionaire. You will notice that chests regularly pop up in fight with enemies. STEAL (NOT MUG) FROM THE CHEST BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING (Really easy if the person with first strike has steal). You will either get an item or a mimic will appear. Take down the mimic and get the gil.
Monster Arena
The Creations (Area, Species, and Original) that you make drop some good weapons, armor, and items. If you can easily beat some of them you can make gil pretty quick. You will have to pay to fight, but you will end up with a lot more gil than you spend. You might not get gil quite as quick, but this way you know what you are fighting and don't end up being unprepared for certain enemies. NOTE: Mimics do not appear here since you cannot capture them.
